RCU’s 2025 Facility Tour Schedule:
Join RCU throughout 2025 and catch these great tours of local recycling facilities. This is your chance to see where your recycling is processed, transported, and remanufactured!

- $25.00 RCU non-members
- Some locations may have lunch packages available for purchase for lunch networking events
2025 Schedule:
- January 9th, 2025: Rocky Mountain Recycling Services, Salt Lake City
- April 24th, 2025: Geocycle Devils Slide, Croydon
- May 29th, 2025: Nucor Steel and Interwest Paper Box Elder / Intermountain Absorbents, Box Elder County
- September 11th, 2025: Liberty Tire Recycling and Utah Metal Works, Salt Lake City
Tour #2:
Where:
- Geocycle / Holcim Cement – Devil’s Slide Facility. 6055 Croydon Road, Morgan UT 84050
- Carpooling is recommended, and limited parking is available at the location.
- Visitor Entrance is the 2nd main entrance next to the main road. Do not use the Trucking entrance (first turnout).
- Park in Visitor Parking. You Must “Back In” to your parking stall, no forward parking allowed. This is a MSHA-regulated site. Meet in the front lobby.
When:
- April 24th, 2025: 10:30 AM Sharp.
Details:
- View the Geocycle Alternative Fuel facility in conjunction with Holcim Cement. This impressive facility uses alternative fuels to substitute fossil fuels to make cement at this facility. Watch how the material is processed, shredded, and added to the kiln to create a green product.
Required PPE:
- Please wear your RCU Safety Vest!
- Closed-Toed Shoes Required, Steel Toes Recommended.
- Safety Glasses
- Hard Hat Required: Please bring one if you have one. We will have a few to lend out.
- Long Pants are required, no Shorts.

- Nucor Steel- Plymouth Utah Facility. 7285 W 21200 N Cemetery Rd, Plymouth UT 84330
- Carpooling is recommended, and limited parking is available at the location.
- Park in Visitor Parking.
When:
- May 29th, 2025: 9:30 AM Sharp.

- View the Nucor Steel facility and see how steel is manufactured into new products right here in Utah!
Required PPE:
- Please wear your RCU Safety Vest!
- Closed-Toed Shoes Required
- Safety Glasses
- Hard Hat: Please bring one if you have one.
- Long Pants required, no Shorts.
Second Stop:
Where:
- Lunch – The Grille in Tremonton Utah
When:
- May 29th, 2025: 12:00 PM Sharp.
Third Stop:
Where:
- Interwest Paper – Box Elder: 12455 Canal Bank Road, Garland UT 84312
- Intermountain Absorbents: 12425 Canal Bank Road, Garland UT 84312
- Carpooling is recommended due to the location.
- Park in front of Interwest Paper alongside the curb and gutter areas.
When:
- May 29th, 2025: 1:30 Sharp.

- View the new Interwest Paper commercial recycling terminal and the new Intermountain Absorbents manufacturing facility (Same Location).

Where:
- Liberty Tire
- Carpooling is recommended, and limited parking is available at the location.
- Park in Visitor Parking in the front. please do not block the driveway, and park in stalls or on the shoulder.
When:
- September 11th, 2025: 10:00 AM Sharp.
Details:
- View the Liberty Tire facility and see how tires are processed in Utah.
Required PPE:

Second Stop:
Where:
- Utah Metal Works
- Carpooling is recommended due to the location.
- Park in front of Interwest Paper alongside the curb and gutter areas.
When:
- September 11th, 2025: 11:15 am.
Details:
- View the Utah Metal Works processing facility that is designed for ferrous and non-ferrous metal recovery.
