Roy Peterman

Roy Peterman has been employed at BYU since 1970, and has been the Grounds Director since 1978. He received a BS at Brigham Young University, and is presently working on a degree in physical plant administration. Roy has received many awards including Grounds Manager of the Year, RCU’s Thomas A. Martin Recycler of the Year, Congressional Citation for Conservation, Brigham award for outstanding service to students, and various other state and city awards. Roy has authored numerous published articles which have appeared in various trade magazines such as Park Maintenance and Grounds Management Trade Magazine. Roy also enjoys sharing his knowledge and teaching others and often presents to Grounds Management Associations both locally and nationally on management tools and practices as well as varied grounds cultural practices and techniques. He also presents to civic, school and professional groups on conservation and recycling. Roy is involved with numerous community service projects and committees. He is the Board Chairman for Provo City Urban Forestry and Beautification, and currently services as a board member for RCU.
