RCU E-Scrap Grant Application

Utah Electronic Scrap Event Grant Application

The Recycling Coalition of Utah (RCU) and the State Department of Environmental Quality, Division of Solid and Hazardous Waste (DSHW) is offering grant money to organizations public or private in the State of Utah, to offset the cost for electronic scrap collection in 2009-2010.  The collection effort could be in the form of a one-time event or an ongoing program.  Please submit a one page application to RCU for consideration.  Grant awards will be for one half of the cost of the event or program up to a $2,000 maximum award. 

Grant applications must address the following guidelines which will be the main consideration for grant awards in order of importance:

  1. Matching funds committed, amount and by whom
  2. Agreed commitment to provide summary report of the event including number of individuals participating and weight of electronic scrap recycled
  3. Sustainability for future events
  4. Advertising plan for the event or program
  5. Number of potential residents to be served or whether the area is underserved by recycling
  6. Description of how you will include RCU and DSHW in your advertising

 

Grant applicants also need to state the qualified electronics recycler they will be using for their event.

All applications are due by March 15, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. (Events and grant funds can be utilized before March 15th)
